About Us

This is an orchestra with a difference. The instrumentation is similar to a chamber orchestra, but you won’t hear us in a stuffy hall or church. We play anything from Mozart to Muse, Rachmaninoff to Radiohead, Sibelius to Sigur Ros, Gliere to Giacchino and more. You’ll see us supporting local Brisbane artists, playing in random locations, and not dressed in black! Quite obviously… we are ‘not an orchestra’ that you are used to.

Noa hasn’t gone down the route of other modern-orchestras prevalent in today’s world by removing brass and woodwind and adding in electronic instruments. In-fact, it’s not our aim to remove any of the traditional orchestral instruments. You will find brass, woodwinds, percussion and string instruments with us. Don’t be scared though!

Whilst we have decided to keep the original heart and soul of an orchestra intact, we’ve modified the music, collaboration opportunities, marketing strategy and performance venues. You might say we are the teenage rebel from the orchestra family.

We may look and feel different, but we’re from the same family. Our purpose is to give you and established orchestras proof that the orchestra, in it’s current form, has plenty of life left in it.

We are still an orchestra, just not the one that you are used to!
